Franz Kafka, “The Trial”
GROUP OF ENTREPRENEURS
(Letter addressed to Prime Minister Cvetković, President Tadić and others)
We, the undersigned business partners of the company “DTD RIBARSTVO” Bački Jarak which is managed by Mr. Tomislav Đorđević, from the aspect of our business relationship, wish to present our position and our opinion.
As befits a well-organised company, leading managers headed by Mr. Tomislav Đorđević showed utmost business correctness, knowledge and professionalism in the scope of their activities, as well as ethics towards external partners.
In this statement – opinion we completely dissociate from politics as well as from the reasons how and why the current situation of Tomislav Đorđević and his associates occurred.
We simply wish to express our opinion, that to us he is an upstanding businessman who with his associates applied good business practices in everything, developed economic activity to a remarkable level, employed many people and built factories which can offer a remarkable quality of products and technologies, that are in conformity with the highest world standards, and were graded as such by EU inspectors for this field during their visit of the factory for fish processing on February 25, 2010.
The initiated concept of development and commercial activity in the municipality of Temerin, as well as in other places where he invests, and we are in charge of construction, is a bright light of development and employment of young people in this country. This was recognised by the charter awarded to Tomislav Đorđević for the development of entrepreneurship in Serbia.
The absence of the principal investor with his associates brings all of us, external partners with a great number of employees as well as own subcontractors, into a very difficult business situation.
With our available capacities based on the planned construction works for specialized facilities and technologies for “DTD RIBARSTVO” in fish-farming, storage and processing, we have come to a standstill with a collectively large number of employees. In the same chain there are also our subcontractors, suppliers, and other support services. The status quo will, by means of a chain reaction, cause a negative situation and dismissal of employees.
Based on what we have stated above, we appeal to the responsible people in the Republic of Serbia and the institutions of the legal system to make possible, without jeopardizing the Law, for Tomislav Đorđević and the group of people who were detained on August 6, 2010, to defend themselves from liberty.
In that case, we and our companies would continue our activities and in such a complete business chain, which includes the state, would achieve a positive commercial environment and economic benefit, which is important to us all.
The initiated projects for the fish processing factory are in their final stages, but at the present moment they are brought to a standstill, awaiting decisions of the investor. A lot of capital and work of highly professional people have been invested into this.
These projects have an immense value only if they are fully realized, which will result in a long-term employment the available capacities, as well as in increasing employment in the Municipality of Temerin and beyond.
In the hope that you will fully understand our position, and that you will observe the extent of the current situation, we thank you.
In Temerin, November 1, 2010.
