Franz Kafka, “The Trial”
It was distant 1993. Time of great changes in my life, I found myself in a new city with no job. After many attempts, a light appeared.
There was a company developing and expanding production. While other companies were shutting down, this one was venturing into something new, production of abrasive materials.
That is how I found myself at YUCO and with much enthusiasm, along with several colleagues, started working on something new, something that I as a food technology engineer hadn’t worked on before.
Under the leadership of Mr. Tomislav Đorđević, YUCO grew into YUCO HEMIJA and developed the manufacture of detergents, household cleaning products, and later cosmetics – a production line whose first manager I was.
At that time it was not easy to launch all those different manufacturing activities and employ so many young people, but his energy was tremendous and it pushed us forward even when we thought that something was impossible to achieve.
Good cooperation with many suppliers of raw materials, both domestic and foreign, and project contractors made YUCO a very recognizable name in Serbia.
Mr. Tomislav Đorđević possessed enormous drive that spured us on. Many times his enthusiasm was not easy to keep up with, but the joy you feel when you see something you’ve produced and you see it selling is immense.
Many young people, hired as trainees back then, are still working today, but now they are experienced professionals with families of their own.
