“Someone must have slandered Josef K., for one morning, without having done anything truly wrong, he was arrested.”
Franz Kafka, “The Trial”
Tomislav Đorđević decided to reinvest the proceeds from the sale of Meridian Bank back into Serbia. In 2006 he founded NS Invest, a company providing management, consulting and financial services to support his investments.
From 2006 to 2010, Tomislav Đorđević and his companies invest over EUR 60 million into the development of new activities in Serbia:
Agriculture and Fisheries
Tourism and Hospitality
Other activities
Tomislav continues his pursuit of international standards in the new areas he invests in.
He designed and developed the concept “from farm to fork” (agriculture – production of fish feed – fish production – fish processing – distribution). He built a factory for the production of fish feed and the most modern facilites for slaughtering fish and fish processing in the Balkans. He invested in the reconstruction of fisheries, in agricultural machinery, construction of silos for grain and oilseeds and the introduction of EU food safety standards.
In the hotel business he insisted on introducing new technologies that raise the level of service and efficiency, such as “intelligent rooms”.
In May 2010 he was awarded the Captain Miša Anastasijević award for contribution to the development of entrepreneurship in Serbia.
In addition to his long-standing practice of developing companies through greenfield investments, Tomislav decided to participate in the state privatisation program. It turned out that in this area quite different rules of behaviour apply and he quickly found himself embroiled in commercial disputes with the Privatisation Agency. The culmination of these commercial disputes is the criminal proceeding against Tomislav Đorđević.
