Fontana
Allegations

Following the arrests in August 2010 the media (B92, Glas Srpske, Večernje novosti, Blic, Kurir, Politika, Press, Večernje novosti) published claims that one of the privatisations that were cancelled with Tomislav Đorđević, as buyer acting in bad faith, is the privatisation of the HTP Fontana hotel complex from Vrnjačka Banja.

Also, the media repeat false accusations first made in 2007, that personal bodyguards of Tomislav Đorđević physically attacked a certain Vladimir Nikolić on 22 September 2007, on the premises HTP Fontana. This individual is falsely portrayed as an employee of the State Share Fund.

The truth

Tomislav Đorđević was not the buyer of HTP Fontana in the privatisation process, nor did he participate in the auction as a bidder. The list of persons who formed the consortium of buyers with whom the Agency for Privatisation cancelled the contract is available on the website of the Privatisation Agency. Shares in HTP Fontana which are held by companies part-owned by Tomislav Đorđević were acquired by purchases from minority shareholders on the Belgrade Stock Exchange.

Tomislav Đorđević never in his life or his career had bodyguards, as confirmed by this article in Večernje novosti, published by court order. He sued the media for these absurd allegations the first time they were made and won the court cases, but this did not prevent the media from slandering him again.
